I like it here a lot

I like beautiful things and warm people. I like the glow of embers in fires, I like low fog on cold mornings, I like the way a sugar cube dissolves in tea. I like blue sea glass and flat stones that you can bounce off the tension of still water, I like the smell of pine forests when it rains, I like stepping into morning dew, bare footed. I like how waves pull the sand into the sea and put it back again. I like how it’s the same beach but different. I like how everybody laughs, but has their own laugh. I like that part a lot. I like love, and love liking it, I like how it’s such a strong feeling that it has to hurt sometimes, too. I like softness, in things and people, I like fireflies and tree frogs and bright orange salamanders that pop against wet green leaves. I like the sounds the forest makes, I like its subtle symphony, I like the creaking of the trees. I like the way the tree tops sway and dance yet never quite touch. I like you, I like your friends, I like getting together. I like the way you think. I like cold wine and warm bread, I like fresh butter and big flakes of sea salt. I like affectionate, curious people. I like how people open their heart and take off their armor, even knowing the world is made of sharpness. I like it here a lot.
